Duplicating an existing Component

Learn how to create a new Component by duplicating an existing public one.

This feature can come very handy when there is a Public Component that you like but that it is not exactly what you need. Duplicating a Component allows you to create your own and edit it until it's perfect for your use case.

It's also super easy to do. Go to the Components view and click on the Public tab:

Today we are going to duplicate and edit the Summary Español Component to make a Summary French Component. It's a very easy edit, it only involves one instruction, but it can give you an idea of the usefulness of duplicating Components.

You'll be redirected to this view:

As you can see, the name of this copy is Summary Español copy. Let's change it to Summary French. Let's also change the description to specify that this Component is for a Summary in french.

Now, last step. Let's modify the final instruction, which is the one that indicates the language of the summary:

The French version looks like this:

Cool! Now we have a new Component and we just edited a single instruction :).
