To ensure Jamy can capture your meeting’s transcript and notes, the Jamy bot needs permission to record the Zoom meeting. Zoom does not allow non-host participants to record by default, so you’ll need to grant permission manually once the meeting starts.

Follow the steps below to enable recording for the Jamy bot:

🧩 Step-by-Step: Grant Recording Permission to Jamy

  1. Start your Zoom meeting as the host.

  2. Wait for the Jamy bot to join the meeting.

    • It will appear in the participant list with a name like Jamy or Jamy Assistant.

  3. Click on the Participants button in the Zoom toolbar to open the participant panel.

  4. Hover over the Jamy bot’s name in the list.

  5. Click the More button (three dots).

  6. Select Allow to Record Local Files.

Once granted, Jamy will start recording, transcribing, and summarizing the call automatically.

📝 Notes:

  • This must be done in each meeting — Zoom does not currently support a global setting to allow all participants to record.

  • If you’d like Jamy to record every meeting automatically, consider using Google Meet, Microsoft Teams where Jamy does not need these permissions.
