The Tasks section turns meeting conversations into trackable to-dos โ with assignees, status, transcript quotes, integrations, comments, and follow-up emails. It appears at the bottom of every Meeting Report, directly below Topics.
What is the Tasks section?
After Jamy processes a meeting, it can automatically identify action items โ things people agreed to do, deadlines mentioned, and next steps. These appear as a numbered list under the Tasks heading.
Each task typically includes:
Tasks are generated from the meeting transcript. You can edit, add, delete, assign, and mark them complete directly in the report.
Where to find Tasks
Go to Recordings (
/reports).Open a meeting report (
/reports/details/{meeting-id}).Scroll to the bottom of the report โ Tasks appears below Topics.
On the Recordings list, a report card may show the first task as a preview when no summary is available.
How Tasks are generated
Tasks are created automatically when:
The Template used for the report has Include Topics & Tasks enabled, or
You manually add them via Add New Report Section ๐ช โ Topics & Tasks โ Add
Most default templates (including Standard Meeting Summary) include Topics and Tasks extraction.
While Tasks are generating
If Tasks have not been generated yet, you will see:
Tasks have not been generated for this report.
The page refreshes automatically while the meeting is still processing. Once generation completes, the task list appears.
If a finished report has no Tasks, use Add New Report Section โ Topics & Tasks โ Add to generate them from the transcript.
The Tasks list
Each task row shows:
A checkbox โ mark the task DONE or back to TO DO
The task title โ select to open full details
Assignee avatars โ people responsible for the task
A โฎ (more) menu โ additional actions
Completed tasks appear with strikethrough styling on the title.
Add a task manually
Select the + button next to the Tasks heading.
Type your task in Add new task.
Select + or press Enter.
The new task is saved immediately and appears in the list with TO DO status.
Edit or delete a task
Select โฎ on a task row, then:
Only the report owner can add, edit, delete, or check off tasks. Shared-link and anonymous viewers see Tasks in read-only mode.
Mark a task complete
Select the checkbox to the left of a task title.
Checked โ status changes to DONE
Unchecked โ status returns to TO DO
Task completion notifications
You can configure email alerts when tasks are completed. Go to Configure โ Settings โ Notifications (/settings/notifications):
Send an email to the meeting organiser and users assigned to the task when you complete that task
Assign a task
Assign tasks to people from the reportโs recipient list (meeting participants and shared recipients).
Select โฎ on the task row.
Select Assign.
In the Assign task to modal, choose one or more people from Select Responsible.
Select Update.
Assignee avatars appear on the task row. Select the ร on an avatar (in the detail drawer) to remove an assignee.
Post-meeting task emails
In Settings โ Notifications, enable:
Send individual email to participants with the tasks assigned to them after each meeting.
Assigned participants receive their tasks by email after the meeting is processed.
Task detail view
Select a task title to open the detail drawer. This view includes:
Description
Additional context Jamy extracted about the task. Select the edit icon to update the description, then Update.
Quotes
Transcript excerpts that support the task, each showing:
A timestamp (select to jump to that moment in the recording)
The speaker
The quoted text
Recording player
A video/audio player at the bottom of the drawer. Timestamps in Quotes seek the player to the relevant moment.
Note: Full task details (description, quotes, and recording links) require the tasks_detail feature, available on Pro, Pro new, Premium, and Global Business plans. Without it, selecting a task prompts an upgrade.
Comments on Tasks
Discuss a specific task with your team directly on the report.
Select โฎ on the task row.
Select Comments.
Type your message โ use @ to mention teammates or @Jamy to ask a question.
Select Send.
See Communicate with Your Team and Jamy in the Comments Section for full details.
Follow Up emails
Send an AI-generated follow-up email about a specific task.
Select โฎ on the task row.
Select Follow Up.
Jamy generates a draft email with subject, body, and recipients pre-filled.
Review, edit if needed, and send.
You can include related tasks assigned to the same people in a single follow-up. This is useful for nudging assignees without writing the email from scratch.
Push Tasks to integrations
If your plan includes integrations and you have connected apps, each task row shows integration buttons:
When adding to Trello or Monday, select the board and list/group. For Upnify, search for a prospect or client.
Connect integrations under Integrations in the sidebar (/integrations).
Tasks and Templates
When creating or editing a Template at Report Creator (/report-creator), toggle:
Include Topics & Tasks
Automatically extract discussion topics and action items
When enabled, every report using that Template will include both Topics and Tasks sections generated from the transcript.
Tasks vs Topics
Both sections are generated together when Topics & Tasks is enabled on a Template or added via Add New Report Section.

Tips
Assign early โ assign tasks while reviewing the report so assignees get post-meeting emails automatically.
Use quotes โ open task details and click timestamps to verify context in the recording before acting.
Check off as you go โ marking tasks DONE keeps the report accurate for your team and triggers completion notifications if enabled.
Push to your PM tool โ connect Trello or Monday and add tasks in one click instead of copying manually.
Missing Tasks? โ use Add New Report Section โ Topics & Tasks โ Add to generate them from an existing transcript.
