Learn about the different ways contacts can be added to Jamy and how to update their information.

Ways to create contacts

Contacts can be added through:

  1. Manual creation

  2. Meeting participant capture

  3. Google Contacts import

  4. Phone contact import

  5. CSV or Excel import

  6. LinkedIn CSV import

  7. Find a Way In results


Option 1 — Create a contact manually

  1. Go to CRMContacts.

  2. Select Add Contact.

  3. Complete the relevant fields.

  4. Select Save Contact.

Every manually created contact requires:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • At least one email address or phone number

This option is best when adding one person or when you want to record detailed relationship context immediately.


Option 2 — Approve contacts captured from meetings

Jamy may identify participants in your recent meetings and create Pending Contacts for review.

You may see an N Pending Contacts notification on the Home page.

To review them:

  1. Select Review, or go to CRMContacts.

  2. Select Pending.

  3. Review and edit the contact’s information.

  4. Select Approve.

You can also use:

  • Accept All

  • Discard All

  • Bulk Approve

  • Bulk Archive

  • Bulk Delete Selected

Review possible duplicates before approving a large group.


Option 3 — Import from Google Contacts

  1. Go to CRMContacts.

  2. Select Import.

  3. Select Import from Google.

  4. Sign in to the appropriate Google account.

  5. Approve the requested access.

  6. Return to Jamy when the import finishes.

Jamy displays how many contacts were imported.

You can also enable the Sync switch to keep Google Contacts synchronisation active.

Use this option when your network is already stored in Google Contacts.


Option 4 — Import contacts from your phone

  1. Select ImportImport from Phone.

  2. Choose:

    • Android

    • iPhone (iOS)

    • Other

  3. Scan the displayed QR code.

  4. Select contacts directly or upload a VCF file.

  5. Confirm the import.

The QR-code session expires after 10 minutes. Jamy supports up to 2,000 contacts per phone-import session.

If direct contact selection is unavailable on your browser, export and upload a VCF file instead.


Option 5 — Import CSV or Excel files

Jamy accepts:

  • CSV

  • XLSX

  • XLS

To import a file:

  1. Select ImportImport from Excel/CSV.

  2. Select Choose file.

  3. Upload your spreadsheet.

  4. Optionally select Use AI to suggest column mapping.

  5. Review Preview & map columns.

  6. Match each source column with a Jamy contact field.

  7. Review the first five rows.

  8. Select Import contacts.

You can map:

  • First, middle, and last name

  • Company

  • Job title

  • Emails

  • Phone numbers

  • Relationship type

  • Tags

  • Status

  • Notes

  • Source

  • Custom fields

Select — Don’t import for columns you do not need.

This option is best for migrating an existing contact database or importing many contacts at once.


Option 6 — Import LinkedIn connections

  1. Open the LinkedIn Network tab.

  2. Select Import LinkedIn CSV.

  3. Follow the instructions to export your LinkedIn connections.

  4. Upload the exported CSV file.

After importing, review the resulting contacts and check for duplicates.

The current interface does not yet provide a separate browsable LinkedIn Network list after import.


Option 7 — Add a contact from Find a Way In

External results discovered through Find a Way In can be added to Contacts.

  1. Go to CRMInsights.

  2. Open Find a Way In.

  3. Search for a company or person.

  4. Review the result.

  5. Select Add to Contact.

Check externally sourced information before saving or using it for outreach.


Information you can add

Basic Information

  • Profile picture

  • First name

  • Middle name

  • Last name

You can upload a JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF, or paste a public image URL.

Contact Details

Add multiple labelled:

  • Email addresses

  • Phone numbers

Professional Details

  • Company

  • Job title

  • Relationship

Additional Info

  • Status

  • Source

Tags

Use tags to organise contacts by industry, location, event, priority, or another personal system.

Relationship Context

Record:

  • Where did you meet?

  • Key facts

  • Why do they matter?

  • Notes

Custom Fields

Custom fields can store additional text, long text, or numerical information.

Socials

Add links such as:

  • LinkedIn

  • Twitter/X

  • Instagram


Edit a contact

  1. Go to CRMContacts.

  2. Find the contact.

  3. Select Edit Contact.

  4. Update their information.

  5. Select Save Contact.

Editing a contact does not modify previous Meeting Reports.


After creating or importing contacts

Recommended next steps:

  1. Review names and contact details.

  2. Approve any Pending contacts.

  3. Add useful tags and relationship types.

  4. Check ManageDuplicates.

  5. Add relationship context and notes.

  6. Link relevant Meeting Reports.

  7. Add important contacts to Keep in Touch.

  8. Archive contacts you do not currently need.
