It is frustrating when a notetaker or generic AI misspells your team members' names, internal acronyms, or a customer's brand. Jamy fixes that with Custom Words — a shared vocabulary for your entire organisation.

What are Custom Words?

Custom Words teach Jamy how your organisation spells specific terms. For each word, you define:

Field

Purpose

Correct word

The spelling Jamy should always use

Misspellings

Common incorrect versions Jamy should automatically replace

Example:

Correct word

Misspellings

Jamy

Jami, Jamie, Jamey

Acme Corp

Akme, Acme Corporation (wrong variant)

QBR

QBRs (if misheard differently)

Once saved, Jamy uses these mappings across transcripts and Meeting Reports for your organisation.

Before you begin

Custom Words requires the custom_words feature, available on Pro, Premium, and Global Business plans. If your plan does not include it, Jamy will prompt you to upgrade when you try to add or edit words.

Custom Words apply at the organisation level — every user in your workspace shares the same vocabulary.

Option 1 — Add Custom Words from Settings

Open Custom Words

  1. In the sidebar, go to ConfigureSettings (/settings).

  2. Under Branding & Customizations, select Custom Words.

You can also go directly to /settings/customwords.

From the header settings menu (when available), Custom Words appears under Branding & Customizations.

The Custom Words page

The page has two panels:

Left panel — Word list

  • Add correct word — create a new entry

  • Search words or misspellings — filter your vocabulary

  • A list of all correct words, with a badge showing how many misspellings each has

Right panel — Word detail

  • Shows the selected Correct word

  • Lets you add and remove Misspellings Jamy should auto-correct

  • Delete removes the word and all its misspellings

At the top, you will see a summary such as “3 words” and “7 misspellings mapped”.

Add a new Custom Word

  1. Select Add correct word.

  2. In the modal, enter:

    • Correct word (required) — e.g. Jamy

    • First misspelling (optional) — e.g. Jami

  3. Select Add word.

You can add more misspellings afterwards in the right-hand panel.

Add more misspellings to an existing word

  1. Select a word from the left panel.

  2. In the Add misspellings field, type a common incorrect spelling.

  3. Press Enter or select Add.

Each misspelling appears as a removable tag. Select the × on a tag to remove it.

Delete a Custom Word

  1. Select the word in the left panel.

  2. Select Delete in the top-right of the detail panel.

  3. Confirm in the modal.

This removes the correct word and all associated misspellings.

Option 2 — Add Custom Words from a Meeting Report

You can also manage Custom Words while reviewing a specific meeting — useful when you spot a spelling mistake in a report.

  1. Open a meeting in Recordings (/reports/details/{meeting-id}).

  2. In the report header pills, select Custom Words (shown with an A+ icon).

  3. The Custom Words modal opens with the same two-panel interface.

When you add or update Custom Words from a meeting report, Jamy automatically runs a spelling correction on that report after you save. You do not need to regenerate the entire meeting — Jamy applies the fix using your updated vocabulary.

What to add

Good candidates for Custom Words include:

  • People's names — team members, customers, speakers

  • Company and brand names — your organisation, clients, partners

  • Product names — internal codenames, SaaS tools, hardware

  • Acronyms and abbreviations — OKR, QBR, SLA

  • Industry-specific terms — jargon Jamy may transcribe incorrectly

  • Non-English names — proper nouns with unusual spelling

The more complete your vocabulary, the more consistent your transcripts and reports become.

Tips

  • Start with mistakes you have already seen — if Jamy wrote "Jami" instead of "Jamy", add that misspelling immediately.

  • Add multiple misspellings per word — transcription errors vary; map every variant you encounter.

  • Use search — as your list grows, search by correct word or misspelling to find entries quickly.

  • Fix from the report — when you notice an error during review, open Custom Words from that report and add the fix on the spot; Jamy will correct that report automatically.

  • Organisation-wide — words added by any authorised user apply for everyone in your organisation.
