What are Sections?
Sections are the building blocks of a Template. Each Section is a set of instructions that tells Jamy how to process a meeting so it can generate a specific part of your Meeting Report.

Every Section you add to a Template becomes its own section in the final report. For example, the Summary section in a Meeting Report comes from the Summary Section.
Note: In older Jamy documentation and in some parts of the product backend, Sections were called Components. If you see “Component” elsewhere, it means the same thing as Section.
Why use Sections?
Sections let you customise Meeting Reports for different goals. Whether you are running a sales call, a candidate interview, or an internal sync, you can build Sections tailored to each use case.
For example, if you want to evaluate a candidate’s English level, you can create an English Level Section with the instructions, framework, and metrics Jamy should use. Jamy will analyse the audio and video recording and include the evaluation in the Meeting Report.
That is just one example — you can build Sections for scoring, compliance checks, customer discovery, coaching feedback, and much more.
How Sections, Templates, and Reports fit together
Workflow:
Create Sections (or choose from the Public Library).
Build a Template and add those Sections in the order you want.
Assign the Template to a meeting (from Calendar or when creating a report).
After the meeting is processed, Jamy generates the report using your Sections.
The default Standard Meeting Template uses only the Summary Section. You can build Templates with as many Sections as you need.
Where to find Sections in Jamy
Templates (main entry point)
Go to Templates in the sidebar (Notes & Meetings → Templates).
From there you can:
Browse your Templates in a searchable card grid.
See how many Sections each Template uses (shown as Sections (n) on each card).
Select Create Template to build a new Template.
When creating or editing a Template, open the Content step to manage Sections:
Create New — create a Section inline without leaving the Template editor.
Add Section — add an existing Section from My Sections or the Public Library.
Include Topics & Tasks — optionally add automatic extraction of discussion topics and action items (separate from custom Sections).
You can reorder Sections with the up/down controls and remove Sections you no longer need.
Create a Section (full editor)
For more control, use the full Section creation flow at Create Section (/quick-access/create).
The editor is a step-by-step wizard:
Choose Creation Method — Generate with AI (recommended) or Create Manually.
General Information — Section name, description, and optional Editors.
Section Type — choose how Jamy should process the meeting (see below).
Visibility — Private (your organisation only) or Public (discoverable by other Jamy users).
Add Items or Add Instructions — define the Section content.
When you finish, the Section is saved and can be added to Templates or used on individual meetings.
Public Library
When adding a Section to a Template, open the Add Section modal and switch to the Public Library tab. You can search public Sections created by other Jamy users and add them to your Template with one click.
Section types (overview)
Every Section is one of two types. The app labels them as follows:
Q&A or Variable Capture supports these field types:
Short Text (3 words)
Text (30 words)
Long Text (100 words)
Boolean (True or False)
Numeric
Date (YYYY-MM-DD)
Select
Multi Select
Text Generation Sections use numbered instructions that Jamy follows in order.
For a full explanation of each type, see the next article: Types of Sections: Q&A or Variable Capture and Text Generation.
Generate a Section with AI
When creating a Section, choose Generate with AI on the first step. Describe what you need — for example, “Evaluate the candidate’s communication skills on a scale of 1–5 with brief justification” — and Jamy will generate the Section structure for you. You can review and edit everything before saving.
Add a Section to an existing Meeting Report
After a meeting has been processed, open the report in Recordings and select Add New Report Section.
From there you can:
Add Topics & Tasks to extract discussion topics and action items.
Add a custom Section from My Sections or Public.
Search Sections by name.
The new Section is queued and typically completes in under a minute.
Test a Section before using it
You can test how a Section performs against an existing report. Open Tests Section for a Section (/quick-access/tests/:id), pick a report from Recordings, and select Create Test. Jamy runs the Section against that meeting so you can compare the prompt and result before adding it to a Template.
Assign a Template to a meeting
To use your Sections automatically, assign a Template to the meeting:
Open the meeting in Calendar and choose a Template from the Template dropdown (with Process meeting enabled), or
Select a Template when creating a report manually from Recordings → Create Report.
Who can create and edit Sections?
Editors — When creating a Section, you can assign Editors (team members who can edit it).
Visibility — Private Sections are limited to your organisation; Public Sections can be discovered by other Jamy users in the Public Library.
Template permissions — When editing a Template, you can set who may edit it: only you, anyone in your organisation, or specific people.
Plan availability
If your plan does not include Templates, Jamy will prompt you to upgrade or add the Custom Templates add-on.
